This raises a structural challenge that policymakers and investors cannot afford to ignore. The article\u2019s data on copper alone indicates that the physical underpinnings of the AI boom are materially commodity\u2011intensive, which is a macroeconomic signal.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The preeminent point\u00a0is that if demand continues to outpace supply, as suggested by these production deficits, copper and other critical commodities will exert sustained upward pressure on input costs for a wide range of industries, from construction to renewable energy and high\u2011performance computing. This, in turn, will most likely result in a persistent cost inflation in core commodities tends which will later on ripple through global supply chains, and ultimately filter through to consumer prices.<\/p>\n<p>This is how the world will enter a new inflationary era fueled not by cyclical demand shocks but by structural supply constraints in the raw materials on which the next generation of technology\u00a0depends.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, while AI is often celebrated as a software revolution, its insatiable demand for copper, lithium, and energy is creating commodity bottlenecks that could trigger a structurally driven inflation that policymakers need to be aware of.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A.I.
